Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down his disciples came to him. And he opened his mouth and taught them … – from Matthew 5
This morning at The Table, Malone taught that Jesus’ sermon on the mount is God’s commentary on the Ten Commandments. The commandments teach us God’s character, but cannot address the unrighteousness of our hearts. It is only in Christ that this is dealt with. But in Him, we are completely righteous. This was our set of worship music:
- Walk-in 1: Spring Up O Well (Jonathan Riggs)
- Walk-in 2: Station 3 (Jesus falls) (Wesley / Wells)
- Lord You are Good (Huskinson / MacLeod / Skinner)
- Kyrie Response: Lord Have Mercy (Steve Merkel)
- Near the Cross (Adams / Doane)
- Offertory: Your Name (Baloche / Packiam)
- Doxology: to the tune of “What Wondrous Love is This?”
- Sanctus: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord (Peter Scholtes)
- Communion: What Wondrous Love is This? (Means / Walker)
- Lord You are Good (reprise)
