I saw this fascinating TED talk last week by performing artist Amanda Palmer. Palmer raised a staggering .2 million on her Kickstarter campaign to promote, distribute, and tour her latest recording project. She sells her own material on her website with a pay-what-you-can (including ~~FIRSTPARAGRAPHTAG~~) approach. She and her campaign are not without controversy (artistic innovation rarely is), but I found her to be quite elegant in her presentation.

Over to you: Is this the future of music? What can we learn from Amanda? How can we stop asking ‘How can we make people pay’ for our art and start asking, ‘How can we let them?’
