Jesus himself came near and went with them, but their eyes were kept from recognizing him. – from Luke 24
This morning at The Table we continued to sing songs about the resurrection of Jesus. Malone used the story of the disciples on the Emmaus road to demonstrate how our inaccurate expectations of God keep us from seeing God. However, Jesus is in pursuit of us and, just because we don’t recognize him, doesn’t mean that he’s not there. He walks with us on every road of our lives. This was our set of worship music:
- Walk-in 1: Worthy is the Lamb (Brian Johnson)
- Walk-in 2: So Great a Salvation (Durham / Durham) (instrumental)
- Walk-in 3: Glorious (Baloche / Brown)
- He is Risen (Kendrick / Baloche). (Glorious and He is Risen go great together. This was a wonderful “accidental” discovery).
- Hallelujah, What a Savior (Philip Bliss)
- Offertory: I Know that My Redeemer Lives (Alleluia) (Hatton / Medley / Riggs)
- Doxology: to the tune of “Christ the Lord is Risen Today”
- Sanctus: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord (Peter Scholtes)
- Blessing, Honor, Glory (Aynsley Martindale)
- Communion: Worthy is the Lamb (Brian Johnson)
- Creed (Mullins / Strasser)
The Table Troubadours
- Jonathan Riggs – leader
- Greg Ottarski – percussion / vocals
- Jon Brooks – bass
