This post is part of the Sunday Setlist blog carnival.
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. – Apostle Paul in Romans 13 (RSV)
This morning at The Table was the first Sunday of Advent, as well as Thanksgiving weekend. Malone reminded us that we can not simultaneously “put on Christ” and “put on condemnation.” This was our set.
- Walk-in 1: Came to my Rescue (Sampson / Thomas / Davies)
- Walk-in 2: Christ We Do All Adore Thee (Dubois / Baker)
- Walk-in 3: Kind and Generous (Natalie Merchant)
- King of Glory (Tomlin / Reeves) (with an intro of “Rejoice, rejoice” from “O Come, O Come Emmanuel”)
- The Same Love (Baloche / Rossback)
- Offertory: (You’re) Beautiful (Phil Wickham)
- Doxology: to the tune of “O Come, O Come Emmanuel”
- Sanctus: Holy, Holy, Holy (Brian Darnell)
- Communion: How Deep the Father’s Love for Us (Stuart Townend)
- Jesus Messiah (Carson / Tomlin / Cash / Reeves)

Rich setlist Jonathan. Always love it when you can work in a Natalie Merchant song on the first Sunday of Advent. Like the iTunes widget as well.
Hey thanks, Terry. I love that Natalie Merchant tune. It’s the second time I’ve used it for Thanksgiving weekend. Slight lyric modifications can make it a worship song really quick. The original also works to be thankful for each other, nothing wrong with that.
