Today, my gratitude list is for the last two weeks. This last week has been a sobering one for us all as we process the tragedy of the Boston Marathon and consider our country, our culture, and our own fleeting lives. I will still run the Country Music Marathon next week – I’m sure with a heightened awareness of my periphery and Boston in mind.
Here in Nashville, I’ve had a great week (make that two weeks). My gratitude list includes:
- Auditions. Three good ones over the last two weeks. Even if you don’t get booked, auditions are great for experience, networking, and practice
- Back porch talks with my Pastor Emeritus about an important decision
- Escaping a bike wreck with very little injury
- Lunch with friends
- Cub Scouts, “crossing over,” and the Arrow of Light badge earned by my Scooter Man
- 41 years of living life
- Singing on the upcoming Johnny Reid Christmas project and making new friends to boot
- Music video shoot with up and coming recoding artist Everett Rae
