This morning Malone gave his farewell sermon at The Table before he heads off to Edenton, NC to serve as the rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. He encouraged us to be aware of the consistent, worldly message that we are judged and valued based on our performance. He also spoke of our futile attempts to control this message and that ultimately we do not have the capacity to correct this message or our belief in it. But that Jesus came to show us a different way. His gospel corrects our vision – of ourselves as well as others. His love for us is unconditional. This was our set of worship music.
