I’ve always admired the well-rounded entertainers who crossed the fields of music, film, and stage effortlessly. Entertainers like Gene Kelly, Bing Crosby, and Fred Astaire. And this is why I like Neil Patrick Harris and recently read his memoir titled Choose Your Own Autobiography after hearing his interview with Terry Gross on her radio show “Fresh Air.”
The book is formatted after those “choose your own adventure” books I used to read as a kid. Clever idea, but I didn’t really get into it. Instead, I chose to read it straight through. Still, it’s always fascinating to learn how people whose careers I respect found / created / stumbled upon their opportunities and the consequences of their life choices.
NPH’s Choose Your Own Autobiography is an entertaining, light-hearted read by an entertainment power house.
