New Year’s Eve with four small children has its challenges. There’s no dragging them to late-night, grown-up parties, and forget trying to find a babysitter. Here’s how we’ll celebrate tonight. At 4:00 our house will magically enter a different time zone called Riggs Party Time (RPT) and will be 7:00. Another family or two will arrive around 8:30. We’ll eat by 9:00. We’ll stay up until midnight (even the kids!) to ring in the new year. Central time will take over while we sleep and we’ll wake up more well-rested than many tomorrow. That’s the plan at least. Wish me luck. And Happy New Year.
