Preparing for the Palm Sunday processional with Robin Madison and Karlton Scott

This post is part of the Sunday Setlist blog carnival.

See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey. – Zechariah 9:9 and Matthew 21:5

Happy Palm Sunday, worshipers. We had a beautiful and eclectic service at The Table. Paul Baloche, Samuel Barber, and Peter Gabriel, all in the same service. This was our set:

  • Congregational Procession: Hosanna (Praise is Rising) (Baloche / Brown)
  • How Deep the Father’s Love for Us (Stuart Townend)
  • Instrumental underscore during dramatic reading:
    • With this Love (Peter Gabriel)
    • What Wondrous Love is This (Alexander Means)
    • Were You There (African-American Spiritual)
  • The Crucifixion (Samuel Barber)
  • Doxology (to the tune of “What Wondrous Love is This”)
  • Sanctus (Holy,Holy, Holy Lord)
  • Communion Song: Kaddish (Maurice Ravel)
  • Communion Song: Via Dolorosa (Sprague / Borop)
  • Jesus Messiah (Carson / Tomlin / Cash / Reeves)
