Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced the Ensuring Likeness Voice and Image Security (ELVIS) Act on Wednesday. This legislation increases the protection of singers and songwriters against the exploitation of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.). Current state law protects an individual’s name and image, but the ELVIS act builds upon that and includes an individual’s voice. If passed, it will be the first piece of legislation in the nation to shore up protections against unauthorized replication via A.I.

Thank you, Governor Lee!
